Things are moving really fast at the home of Loonatik and Drinks. 'The Office Orphan' is on the brink of being completed. Currently running at exactly 5 minutes and I've done a neat cut to enter into Virgin Media Shorts. I'll post an announcement when the film's uploaded onto the Virgin Media site so you can all go on and vote for someone else ;)
Popped over to London to visit the composer on 'The Wailing Well' . He did the music for BBC's recent adaptation of 'Day of the Triffids' dontchaknow? Had a great session with him and the music is sounding soooooo good, there's some really spooky stuff going on throughout the score. Meanwhile, Steve's busy finishing off the effects on the final portion of the film and he said he's created a really messed up shot which should freak everyone out - big style. Should finally get 'The Wailing Well' done before we embark on 'Rats'.
Speaking of 'Rats', we're looking to go into production at the end of May. This is a really interesting project for me as it's the first film from Loonatik and Drinks that I'm not closely working on. This is a complete Luddites production and I'm looking forward to heading down to Bristol to be almost like a director for hire. As you can see from Steve's updates, he's doing some mind blowing work in prepping the shoot and I think it's going to be an amazing production.
Following on from 'Rats' the Nottingham branch of Loonatik and Drinks will throw another quick film into production. We're looking at a couple of scripts at the moment, top of the pile is a quirky time-travel based comedy which will be shot in similar fashion to 'The Office Orphan' - fast and to the point.
After all that, we may actually sit down for once and 'ave a cup o' tea.
