It's a wrap

The latest L&D production was shot on Sunday night. From the award winner writer of the award nominated film ‘The Office Orphan’ comes a comic tale of heartache, pain, misery and bitchy waitresses. At the moment it’s called ‘Slow Night’, but no-one really likes that title so we’ll change it soon. We had an exhausting overnight shoot where we were behind before we’d even started. With some nifty trimming of the shot list, we got everything we needed in the can with some top notch performances from all. We were shooting on two 5D’s which was great and just used available light, with the occasion handheld light to boost the light on the actors faces. Very keen to check out the results.

The footage is with the editor now and I’ll keep you posted of the films progress.
On an unrelated note, saw ‘Monsters’ on Saturday with a Q&A and masterclass from director Gareth Edwards. It really is a great film and I urge anyone who wants to get into film making to watch it. The guy is a genius and an inspiration to us all.

And finally, ‘The Office Orphan’ will be screening as part of the 242 Short Film Festival in Italy early December. It is also showing as part of IDFest in Derby on 27th November alongside a little film called ‘Great Expectations’.
